Do you collect my personal information and what information do you collect?

In the course of doing business with you and to enable us to provide you with our services, we do need to collect some personal information from you. This generally includes your name, address and other contact details.

Your personal information is stored electronically on computer equipment with restricted access. All computers are password protected and have a secure firewall to prevent unauthorised access and tampering. This information is stored securely and access is only ever allowed by people working for Clocks at Flinders.

How long do you need my information for? What do you do with it when you are finished with it?

Written information is kept for about eighteen months in case our auditors need to refer to your account details. Then it is destroyed. Computer records are kept securely for longer as the Taxation Department or our accountants may need to refer our financial details. We do keep your contact details so that we can send you details of promotions or services, which you may be interested in. Each time we forward you information you can tell us not to send anything further. In this case, your information will be immediately deleted from our records.

What if I want to check what personal information you hold about me?

Subject to the provisions of the Privacy Act you are welcome to request details of what personal information we might be keeping. In most cases, these details can be provided quickly and you will not be charged for this. However, if the information is stored in our archives of requires time to find a nominal charge may apply.
